Encore Xtra Add-On

Available on EPA 2021 and 2017 B6.7, L9 and X15 automotive engines with existing ‘Active’ extended coverage in the United States and Canada.         
 

Eligibility and Requirements:

• Encore Xtra add-on is designed to be added to an existing 'ACTIVE' new engine coverage program.  Encore Xtra add-on coverage is NOT available once new engine coverage expires.   Once new engine coverage expires, the engine may be eligible for a traditional Encore Xtra coverage with inspection.
• Engine must be outside of 18 months from the Date in Service (DIS) or have reached 200,000 miles, whichever occurs first. An engine that is within 18 months from DIS will follow the standard upgrade process.
• Engine must have ‘Active’ existing extended coverage (within both months and miles). i.e., Plan 1 or Plan 2.
• Only one Encore Xtra add-on coverage can be applied per active extended coverage.
• Encore Xtra Add-on coverage must be equal to existing ‘Active’ coverage. i.e., Can only add an ‘Encore Xtra add-on Plan 1’ to a ‘new engine Plan 1’ or ‘Encore Xtra add-on Plan 2’ to a ‘new engine Plan 2’.
• No inspection required for an Encore Xtra add-on coverage.
• Encore Xtra add-on coverage will become active once existing coverage expires due to miles or time. The coverage certificate will show the start date as the DIS of the engine.
• Encore Xtra add-on coverage is available to the first or subsequent owner of the Engine.
• Encore Xtra add-on coverage is available one time, per owner. Traditional Encore Xtra cannot be added after an Encore Xtra Add-on.
• Encore Xtra add-on coverage does not apply to Cummins ReCon® engines.
• Pre-Existing failures are not covered under this plan.
• Participating engine must be within the listed years and mileage from DIS to qualify for coverage.

2021 Engines

The maximum coverage duration on a 2021 Performance Series HD diesel engine cannot exceed 6 years/600,000 miles (965,606 kilometers).

The maximum coverage duration on a 2021 Efficiency Series HD diesel engine cannot exceed 7 years/750,000 miles (1,207,008 kilometers).

The maximum coverage duration on a 2021 MD diesel engine cannot exceed 7 years/300,000 miles (482,803 kilometers).

If the engine exceeds either the max start year or mileage/kilometers below, then the engine does not qualify for coverage. 

2017 Engines

The maximum coverage duration on a 2017 HD diesel engine cannot exceed 7 years/750,000 miles (1,207,008 kilometers). 

The maximum coverage duration on a 2017 MD diesel engine cannot exceed 7 years/300,000 miles (482,803 kilometers).

If the engine exceeds either the max start year or mileage/kilometers below, then the engine does not qualify for coverage. 

Encore Xtra Protection Plan 1 (XD1, XP1) coverage includes:

• Internal components, major engine systems, and major components
• Registered parts and labor
• Covers all these components including mounting hardware and gaskets:
  • Cylinder head assembly
  • Cylinder block assembly
  • Rocker lever assembly
  • ECM
  • Piston, rings, and liners
  • Lube oil cooler assembly
  • Front gear cover
  • Oil pan
  • Connecting rod assembly
  • Lube Pump assembly
  • Camshaft and bushings
  • Cam follower assemblies
  • Crank shaft assemblies
  • EGR cooler, valve and mixer
  • Fuel Injectors (excluding aftertreatment injector)
  • Turbo
  • Water pump
  • Fuel pump
  • Air Compressor
  • Select engine sensors
  • Wiring Harness
  • Front Gear Housing
  • Connectivity Module - EPA 2021 Products Only
